Certified Terrorism
Exclusion Endorsements Without Fire Exception Approved in Virginia
Effective July 1, 2003
In response to the enactment of House Bill 2606, which exempts
certified terrorism coverage from standard fire policy
requirements, AAIS filed certified terrorism exclusion
endorsements that do not provide coverage for ensuing fire loss.
Amended manual supplement pages, from which all standard fire
policy references have been deleted, were also submitted.
Additional information was provided in, and copies of all
replacement endorsements and manual pages were provided as
attachments to, AAIS Bulletin 03-0161, which is posted to the AAIS
open Web site at: http://www.aaisonline.com/terror/Bulletin/03-0161.htm.
The state terrorism information for Virginia that is posted to the
AAIS open Web site at http://www.aaisonline.com/terror/VA.htm
has also been updated to reflect not only the endorsement, rule,
and rating information that will continue to apply to certified
acts of terrorism through June 30, 2003, but also the new
endorsement, rule, and rating information that will apply to these
acts on and after July 1, 2003.
The updated endorsement editions are available from CCH
Information Services, the print vendor of AAIS forms and
endorsements. Call CCH at 800/382-2424 to order the notices in
paper printed format. Call CCH at 800/782-9481 to also order the
text of the notices in a variety of electronic formats.
