"We have been using the AAISdirect service, the e2Value software, the online access to the forms and the web teleconferences. We are very happy with the service and feel that it enhances our development efforts in many ways."

— Kari L. Dickenscheidt,
American Equine Insurance Group

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

AAISdirect is the best expenditure we ever made. I use it to check policy language and update files, and it now takes me half the time I used to spend preparing and filing a manual. I simply download the AAIS version in Microsoft®Word, customize it, and produce a finished manual.”

— Matthew Schnader,
Reamstown Mutual Ins. Co.

of your AAIS affiliation

You get fast access to all product information

  • Forms, manuals, and bulletins
  • Rating information in Excel and XML data sets
  • Rating worksheets
  • Sample declarations and disclosures
  • The complete AAIS Compliance Guide
  • Educational materials

    . . . and more!

The latest set of enhancements to AAISdirect includes a feature that allows subscribers to add documents to a 'download cart' and, when ready, compress and download the contents of the cart to the user's PC or network. Similar to the experience one finds in a shopping cart at an online retail site, users can add "items" to the download cart in groups or one at a time. The items remain in the cart while the user browses other parts of AAISdirect, moves to other websites, or even logs off AAISdirect. When the user returns to AAISdirect, the contents of the cart are still there.

Documents can be downloaded in any formats provided on AAISdirect, including Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat.

The AAISdirect library of material is maintained by AAIS staff and available from every user's desktop, so you don't have to spend time filing, updating, and routing documents. Bulletins are hyper-linked to referenced forms and manuals for easy navigation among materials.

The data sets of rating information, available in Microsoft® Excel and XML formats, can be readily transferred into company systems helping to save time, reduce errors, and implement loss cost changes more expeditiously.

Plus, you get these value-added services

"Risk Meter" risk mapping service
This service of CDS Business Mapping provides more than 30 categories of geographic information related to hazards at a location. Among other things, Risk Meter can be used to validate the distance of an insured location from a fire department, a determining factor in the application of AAIS simplified fire protection definitions. (For use with risks written on AAIS programs.)

Valuation applications from e2Value
Companies and agents can develop building property valuations quickly and systematically by accessing the "Residential" and "Farm & Ranch Estimator" property valuation applications developed by e2Value, Inc. (Service is limited to companies with affiliations for personal and/or farm property lines.)

A word on downloading forms in Microsoft Word format
After AAISdirect was first developed in 2000, forms in Microsoft Word format were made available as self-extracting "zip" files with a .exe extension. This compression of the forms made large files smaller and faster to download, while avoiding the need for additional software at the user's end. As time passed and technology progressed, Internet connection speeds dramatically increased, and downloads are much faster. Also, security-conscious companies began restricting internal users from downloading .exe files. Therefore, all Microsoft Word forms are now posted on AAISdirect in their native .doc format, rather than as self-extracting .exe files.

Today, support for zip compression is widespread and natively supported in most operating systems. Recognizing this, AAIS will move all remaining self-extracting .exe files, such as manual downloads, to the standard .zip format. Look for an announcement of this change in an upcoming bulletin or email.
