COMMERCIAL LINES PROGRAMS

Commercial Monolines

AAIS offers a range of Commercial Monoline programs that provide forms, rules, and rating information that are consistent with industry standards. For all of these programs, coverage is provided through booklet-style forms that can be written as monolines or packaged with other industry forms. AAIS staff can work with companies to develop plans to convert to these programs.

The programs listed below have all the endorsements and rating information needed to comply with the federal Terrorism Risk Insurance Act of 2002, including materials to comply in those states that require coverage for fire loss in accordance with the Standard Fire Policy.

Commercial Liability Program

  • Features five basic forms: commercial liability, broad form commercial liability, owners and contractors protective, premises only, and farm premises and operations

  • Exclusion for "known injury or damage" available to shield insurers from "continuous trigger" claims inspired by the Montrose ruling

  • Endorsements available to limit or exclude coverage for claims arising from construction defects, mold, and synthetic stucco, which are inter-related causes of action

  • Separate option for writing employee benefits liability coverage (with a claims-made trigger)

  • Countrywide manual provides inflation-sensitive rating bases, such as sales receipts, plus a countrywide classification table

  • Provides state-specific premises/operations and products/completed work rating information organized by a five-digit class code
